Dodgers place Paco Rodriguez on DL, recall Pedro Baez

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed left-handed pitcher Paco Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to August 4) with a Teres Major strain and recalled right-handed reliever Pedro Baez from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Baez, 26, made his Major League debut on May 5 at Washington and has allowed two runs in 2.0 innings in two previous stints with the Dodgers this year. He has combined to go 2-1 with 12 saves and a 3.86 ERA in 40 appearances for Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Albuquerque, last pitching on Saturday for the Isotopes in their game vs. Tacoma and firing a scoreless inning of relief.

Rodriguez made only one appearance during his most recent call-up and struck out two in 2.0 scoreless innings against the Cubs on Sunday. He has appeared in 13 games for the Dodgers this season, firing scoreless relief in 10 of those appearances.
