White Sox option Eric Surkamp to Class AAA Charlotte

Following today's game at Seattle, the Chicago White Sox optioned left-handed pitcher Eric Surkamp to Class AAA Charlotte.

Surkamp, 26, is 1-0 with a 7.11 ERA (10 ER/12.2 IP), four holds and nine strikeouts over 20 relief appearances with Chicago since being recalled from Charlotte on June 26.

He has gone 3-4 with a 4.54 ERA (37 ER/73.1 IP) and 84 strikeouts in 14 games (11 starts) with the Knights this season.

The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to Tuesday night's game at San Francisco.
