Blue Jays activate Encarnacion

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have activated 1B EDWIN ENCARNACION from the 15-day disabled list and have optioned OF ANTHONY GOSE to Buffalo of the International League (AAA).

ENCARNACION, 31, was placed on the disabled list on July 6 after suffering a strained right quadriceps. In 88 games this season the right-handed hitter is batting .277 with 21 doubles, 26 home runs and 70 RBI. 

GOSE, 24, has posted a .234 average in 69 games this season with Toronto with one home run and nine RBI.
