Blair among top performers in Minors Thursday

Aaron Blair has not given up an earned run in more than two weeks.

The D-backs' No. 3 prospect was dominant for Double-A Mobile on Thursday night, collecting four strikeouts against three hits in seven shutout innings. Blair -- the 36th pick in the 2013 Draft -- has progressed in each of his three Minor League seasons, with his 2015 campaign bordering on elite.

After Thursday's win, baseball's No. 73 overall prospect stands at 4-2 with a 2.07 ERA in 10 starts. Since his start on May 12, Blair has gone 20 2/3 innings without surrendering an earned run and posted a 19-to-2 K:BB ratio during the stretch.

More standout performances from Top 100 prospects on Thursday

• Dodgers No. 1 prospect (No. 6 overall) Corey Seager went a perfect 6-for-6 for Triple-A Oklahoma City. Seager, 21, hit his third homer and added a pair of doubles as he drove in six runs in the Dodgers' 14-11 win over the Salt Lake Bees. Seager's feat -- at least six hits with two doubles, a home run and six RBIs -- has never been accomplished in a Major League game. "It's always nice to succeed and you always feel more confident about everything," Seager told MiLB.com after the game. "But I just try to ride the highs and keep it going."

• Athletics No. 1 prospect (No. 67 overall) Matt Olson provided plenty of offense for Double-A Midland, going 2-for-2 with a solo homer and three walks. The first baseman has been quite adept at drawing free passes this year -- he now has 42 -- and it's a big reason his on-base percentage is a robust .390. The power has been there, too. Olson has seven jacks and 27 RBIs this season.

Other notable performances from around the Minor Leagues Thursday

• Angels No. 16 prospect Kyle McGowin continues to turn around his season for Double-A Arkansas. The right-hander gave up three hits in seven shutout innings, following a May 23 start in which he didn't allow an earned run over five innings. Thanks to those two outings, McGowin has cut his ERA from 6.19 to 4.66, and now stands at 4-2.

• Angels No. 17 prospect Natanael Delgado slugged a grand slam for Class A Burlington. The homer was his second of the year. Delgado has a .277/.325/.387 line with 23 RBIs.

• Brewers No. 8 prospect Kodi Medeiros picked up his second win in three starts, and has not lost since May 3. The Class A Wisconsin southpaw went seven innings on Thursday, giving up two hits while striking out five and keeping Cedar Rapids off the board. He's now 2-2 with a 4.27 ERA this year.

• Cardinals No. 13 prospect Jacob Wilson smacked his first home run since being called up to Triple-A Memphis on May 18. He's now hitting .226 with six RBIs in 10 games.

• Dodgers No. 20 prospect John Richy tossed a shutout for Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga. The rare Minor League feat involved just four hits and no walks. Richy struck out five in nine innings, and now stands at 6-2 with a 3.99 ERA.

• Indians No. 4 prospect Giovanny Urshela and No. 6 prospect James Ramsey had a slug-off against White Sox No. 10 prospect Matt Davidson and No. 18 prospect Trayce Thompson. The two Triple-A Columbus hitters combined to go 3-for-9 with two homers and four RBIs, while their Charlotte counterparts went 4-for-9 with two homers and five RBIs. Davidson and Thompson came out on top, as the Knights defeated the Clippers, 8-7.

• Marlins No. 3 prospect Justin Nicolino threw seven strong for Triple-A New Orleans giving up seven hits and one earned run while striking out seven batters. He didn't get the 'W,' but Nicolino has now gone at least six innings in all nine starts since his season opener on April 9 when he only went 4 2/3 innings. On the season, he's 4-1 with a 2.05 ERA.

• Orioles No. 16 prospect Mychal Givens collected his ninth save of the season for Double-A Bowie. The power pitcher struck out four and gave up just one hit in two innings of shutout work.

• Padres No. 24 prospect Jose Castillo was excellent in his season debut for Class A Fort Wayne. The lefty gave up just one hit in five innings, striking out five against two walks.

• Pirates No. 14 prospect Willy Garcia now has three straight two-hit games for Double-A Altoona. The outfielder went 2-for-4 with his first homer of the year on Thursday. Over this three-game span, he's bumped his line from .273/.314/.313 to .295/.340/.353 and has 17 RBIs this year.

• Pirates No. 27 prospect Cody Dickson tied his season-high with five strikeouts for Class A Advanced Bradenton. He gave up just one hit in five innings of work, and now stands at 4-3 with a 3.33 ERA.

• Rays No. 5 prospect Casey Gillaspie cracked a solo homer while notching his sixth multi-hit game in eight tries. The Class A Bowling Green first baseman now has nine jacks and 30 RBIs on the year.

• Rockies No. 5 prospect Forrest Wall hit his fifth home run of the season for Class A Asheville. He went 2-for-4 with two RBIs on Thursday, and now sports a .264/.345/.472 line and 26 RBIs.

• Rockies No. 12 prospect Trevor Story launched a solo shot for Double-A New Britain, his second homer in the past week. The shortstop now has one of the more impressive lines in the Colorado organization, hitting .321/.413/.564 with seven dingers and 30 RBIs.

• Rockies No. 13 prospect Kyle Parker is still swinging a hot bat for Triple-A Albuquerque. The right fielder went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs Thursday, and now has nine RBIs in his past eight games. On the year, he stands at five home runs and 22 RBIs.

• Royals No. 12 prospect Orlando Calixte and No. 20 prospect Raymond Fuentes combined to go 3-for-9 with two homers for Triple-A Omaha. Fuentes has been rock solid this season, hitting .319/.379/.442 with four homers and 18 RBIs.

• Yankees No. 7 prospect Gary Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the fourth inning of Double-A Trenton's first game on Thursday. The 22-year-old now has six homers and 22 RBIs this year.
