Beltre wins Player of Week for role in division run

Veteran third baseman Adrian Beltre has been named the AL Player of the Week for the final week of the season after helping guide the Rangers to the American League West crown.

It is the fifth career weekly honor for Beltre, who has won the AL Player of the Week award twice with the Rangers (in 2012 and '13) and the NL Player of the Week award twice with the Dodgers (in 2000 and '04).

Over the last week (seven games), Beltre hit .448 (13-for-29) with six runs, four doubles, two home runs, 13 RBIs and two walks.

He went 5-for-9 with six RBIs in the Rangers' two games Saturday and Sunday as the team clinched the division in a weekend showdown with the rival Angels.
