Hanson rips inside-the-park home run for Triple-A Indianapolis

Pirates No. 7 prospect goes 3-for-4 in his first game back from the disabled list

Well, that didn't take long.

In Alen Hanson's first game back from the disabled list, the Pirates' No. 7 prospect (No. 77 overall) ripped a third-inning solo inside-the-park home run off the center-field wall, which ultimately provided the winning margin in Triple-A Indianapolis' 2-1 win over Columbus on Wednesday.

The speedy 22-year-old finished the day 3-for-4 after missing several games with a left pinkie finger injury. That setback came when he was sliding into third base on June 15, just two weeks after Hanson was named the Pirates' Minor League Player of the Month for May.

He's shown a propensity for scooting around the basepaths this season, with eight doubles and eight triples to go along with 19 stolen bases. Hanson's line currently stands at .292/.335/.442, including five homers and 33 RBIs.

Wednesday, he drove a pitch from Will Roberts off the wall in right-center, where it caromed away from two outfielders. It was the first inside-the-park home run for Indianapolis since Alex Presley hit one in 2011.
