Kendrick awarded home run following official review

DETROIT -- In the fourth inning of Friday's Angels-Tigers game at Comerica Park, Angels designated hitter Howie Kendrick hit a long drive to right-center off reliever Luke Putkonen that was initially ruled a double.

After a video review that lasted one minute and 40 seconds, the call was overturned and Kendrick was awarded a home run -- his second of the night. The two-run shot gave the Angels an 8-1 lead.

The review was an official challenge and not prompted by a manager.
