D-backs drop challenge on close play at plate

DENVER -- D-backs manager Kirk Gibson lost a replay challenge in the fifth inning of Wednesday night's game against the Rockies.

With Corey Dickerson on third and Troy Tulowitzki on second, Michael Cuddyer singled to right scoring Dickerson and Tulowitzki as Gerardo Parra's throw home seemingly arrived too late.

Gibson, though, challenged the decision and after a one minute, eight second review the ruling on the field was confirmed.

It was the 11th time Gibson had challenged a call this year. Four have been overturned.
