Inciarte forces Hale's hand with early hot streak

D-backs outfielder takes over leadoff role

SAN FRANCISCO -- Ender Inciarte's hot start at the plate has led D-backs manager Chip Hale to rethink his outfield situation and his lineup order.

Hale will still try to get some playing time for David Peralta, but with Inciarte hitting .406 heading into Thursday night's game, Hale has found it harder and harder to take him out.

"He's going to be in there most every day now," Hale said. "The way he's played, he's forced his way in there."

When the season started, Hale had center fielder A.J. Pollock hitting leadoff with Inciarte in the No. 2 spot when he was playing. Inciarte, though, is now going to fill the leadoff spot with Pollock sliding down a spot.

"I think Pollock in the two-hole is dynamic," Hale said. "He's got a little more power and Ender has done a better job of getting on base at this point so far."
