D-backs raise more than $700K for Yarnell families

In two weeks, the D-backs have raised more than $700,000 in support of the families of the 19 firefighters who lost their lives while fighting the Yarnell, Ariz., fire and those in the community affected by the tragedy.

The fundraiser commenced on July 2 and lasted throughout the team's 10-game homestand. All donations will benefit the 100 Club of Arizona, American Red Cross, Prescott Firefighters Charities and other philanthropic entities aimed to assist in the rebuilding efforts.

The D-backs' 50/50 Raffle, held at each home game, raised more than $350,000, with half of the total going to the raffle winners and the other half going to the charities. The organization established a raffle record on July 5, when it raised more than $100,000 in one night.

More than 5,000 fans contributed a total of more than $250,000 online. The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation added an additional $200,000. The team also raised $76,000 through an online jersey and nameplate auction.
