A's agree to terms with 3rd and 6th round draft picks

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s agreed to terms with first baseman Ryon Healy and right-handed pitcher Kyle Finnegan, the club announced today.

Healy was the A’s third round selection in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Oregon and batted .333 with 11 home runs and 56 RBI in 59 games with the Ducks.  He added 28 walks for a .408 on-base percentage and slugged .566.  Healy was an All-Pac-12 Selection after leading the league in home runs while ranking third in RBI and slugging percentage.  The 21-year-old right-handed hitter set Oregon single season records in doubles (17) and RBI.

Finnegan was drafted in the sixth round out of Texas State.  He went 5-3 with a 4.66 ERA in 19 games, 10 starts, as a junior for the Bobcats.  The right-hander ranked 10th in the Western Athletic Conference with 64 strikeouts.

The A’s have now signed or agreed to terms with 29 of their 42 picks from the draft, including five of the first six and 12 of the first 15.
