Reddick sidelined by hyperextended right knee

OAKLAND -- Right fielder Josh Reddick was out of the A's lineup against the Angels on Sunday due to a hyperextended right knee. He is day to day.

Reddick exited Saturday's game after he banged his knee into the outfield wall while making a catch in the sixth inning.

Manager Bob Melvin said before Sunday's game that he is not yet sure what the plan will be for Reddick going forward.

With Reddick and Brandon Moss (strained right calf) out of the lineup, the A's recalled catcher Stephen Vogt from Triple-A Sacramento while demoting right-hander Fernando Rodriguez.

Reddick, a key piece for Oakland defensively, is batting just .214 with four home runs and 22 RBIs. He was mired in a 4-for-35 slump before leaving the game Saturday.
