A's reinstate OF Yoenis Céspedes from the Disabled List

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s reinstated outfielder Yoenis Céspedes from the disabled list, the club announced today.  He takes the roster spot of right-handed pitcher Tyson Ross, who was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento yesterday.

Céspedes was batting .245 with five home runs and 21 RBI in 28 games when he was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 12 retroactive to May 7 with a strained muscle in his left hand.  He went 3 for 9 (.333) with a walk during a three-game rehab assignment with Sacramento from Monday through Wednesday.  Céspedes made all three of his rehab starts in left field after making all 28 of his starts with Oakland in center field.  Despite missing more than three weeks, he is currently tied for second among American League rookies in RBI and tied for third in home runs, stolen bases (4) and walks (9).
