Astros prospect Hernandez delivers 1-2 punch

Outfielder drills pair of home runs to propel Class A Advanced Lancaster

Outfielder Teoscar Hernandez, the Astros' No. 13 prospect, hit two home runs Tuesday and led Class A Advanced Lancaster to an 8-4 victory at Bakersfield. It was the first multihomer game of his career.

Hernandez finished the game 3-for-5 with a double and five RBIs to go with his two home runs. He has homered four times in five games and has four multihit games in that stretch.

Hernandez is hitting .301 with eight home runs this season. His 41 RBIs are tied for the most in the California League and he ranks among the top 10 in OPS and slugging percentage. He has played 43 games, all in center field.

Third baseman Rio Ruiz, the Astros' No. 11 prospect, went 1-for-4 with a walk to extend his hitting streak to six games in the victory. Danry Vasquez, the club's No. 20 prospect, added two walks and a run.
