Astros sign five players from 2015 MLB draft class

Club also announces non-drafted free agent signing

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros announced today that the club has signed an additional five players who were selected in the 2015 MLB Draft. Those players are center fielder Myles Straw, left fielder Justin Garcia, catcher Kevin Martir, outfielder Aaron Mizell and left-handed pitcher Steve Naemark. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. The official announcement was made by Astros Director of Amateur Scouting Mike Elias.

Additionally, the Astros signed a non-drafted free agent today, coming to terms with Nicholls State University catcher Christian Correa.

Naemark, 25, entered the work force following high school and was out of baseball for four years. The Astros selected the left-handed pitcher with their 40th round pick in this year's draft following his standout season at Angelo State University (San Angelo, TX), in which he went 11-1 with a 1.37 ERA (29ER/125IP) and 138 strikeouts. The Astros are also providing him with a scholarship to finish his degree.

Houston has now signed 26 of their 42 selections from the 2015 draft.
