AT&T Park Opening Week

Homestand Features: Madison Bumgarner Postseason MVP Bobblehead, World Champions Snow Globe and Fireworks Night

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - The 2014 World Champion San Francisco Giants open their 16th season at AT&T Park with an 11-day, 10-game homestand against the Colorado Rockies (April 13-15), Arizona Diamondbacks (April 16-19) and Los Angeles Dodgers (April 21-23).

On Monday, April 13, the Giants will take on the Colorado Rockies in their home opener at 1:35 p.m. The 2014 World Champions Pennant will be raised during pre-game festivities. The Giants will also pay special tribute to Hall of Fame Broadcaster Lon Simmons. The first 40,000 fans will receive a World Series Champions Pennant, presented by Bank of America. Gates will open at 11:05 a.m. and fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 12:45 p.m. for the pre-game ceremony.  

On Tuesday, April 14, the first 40,000 fans will receive a Madison Bumgarner Postseason MVP Bobblehead, presented by AAA.

It is also Say Hey Tuesday as CSN Bay Area will host Yahoo! Sports Talk Live, Giants Pregame Live, and Giants Postgame Live from Willie Mays Plaza. Fans are invited to come out early and watch their favorite sports analysts. The first 500 fans who come to Willie Mays Plaza and get in line at the Comcast SportsNet tent will receive a foam fist with three WS rings.

Wednesday, April 15 is Jackie Robinson Day marking the 68th Anniversary of Robinson's Major League Baseball debut. All MLB players, coaches and umpires will wear Number 42 on this day. The Giants will recognize Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholars from Bay Area colleges and universities prior to the game. The first 30,000 fans in attendance will receive a Snow Globe presented by Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

Thursday, April 16 is Irish Heritage Night at AT&T Park. Fans who purchase a special event ticket will receive admission to the pre-game party in Seals Plaza from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and an Irish-themed Giants beanie. Cultural performances will take place on the field prior to the game. Partial proceeds from each special event ticket sold will benefit local Irish charities. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Giants World Champions Calendar, presented by AT&T.

On Friday, April 17, the Giants will host Korean Heritage Night. Special event ticket holders will receive a collector's edition Korean-themed Giants t-shirt. Following the game on Friday, fans are invited to stay and enjoy Fireworks Night at AT&T Park, presented by Hanwha.

On Saturday, April 18, the 2014 San Francisco Giants will be honored for their World Series Championship. A pre-game ceremony will be held for members of the 2014 team, who will receive their World Series rings. The first 40,000 fans will receive a Replica Ring, presented by AT&T.

On Sunday, April 19, the first 7,500 kids 14-years and younger will receive a Giants World Champions Drawstring Backpack, presented by See's Candies. Additionally, all kids 14-years and younger are invited to come run the bases following the game, presented by See's Candies.

Prior to the game on Sunday, Sharon Robinson and Shawon Dunston will meet with students from Riverbank High School in Riverbank, CA chosen as one of the finalists from over 16,000 essays nationwide. A major component of the program is the Breaking Barriers Essay Contest, which encourages children to write about barriers or obstacles they have faced or are still facing in their lives and how they used the values exemplified by Jackie Robinson to deal with those barriers or obstacles. Using America's sport, baseballs as the metaphor for life, the curriculum is bases on the values demonstrated by barrier breaker, Jackie Robinson: Determination, Commitment, Persistence, Integrity, Justice, Courage, Teamwork, Citizenship and Excellence.

The Giants will enjoy a day off on Monday, April 20, and then wrap up their homestand with a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, April 21-23. On Tuesday, April 21, the Giants will host their second annual SFUnite Night. Fans who purchase a special event ticket will receive a collector's edition SFUNITE Sports Stadiums and Arenas t-shirt.

It is also Say Hey Tuesday as CSN Bay Area will host Yahoo! Sports Talk Live, Giants Pregame Live, and Giants Postgame Live from Willie Mays Plaza. Fans are invited to come out early and watch their favorite sports analysts. The first 500 fans who come to Willie Mays Plaza and get in line at the Comcast SportsNet tent will receive Sunglasses.

On Wednesday, April 22, the Giants will celebrate Earth Day with Carnaval at the Park. Carnaval festivities, such as cultural music and entertainment, will be taking place on the field prior to the game. Partial proceeds from each Carnaval Special Event ticket sold goes directly back to aid in the mission of conserving Agua Sagrada. The Giants are also working with San Francisco Department of the Environment on this day to highlight the organization's recycling efforts which have earned them their seventh MLB Green Glove as a team leader in recycling and general sustainability initiatives.
