Blue Jays claim Anderson

The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed 1B Lars Anderson from the Chicago White Sox.

ANDERSON, 25, batted .125 in eight games with the Boston Red Sox last season. The 6-4, 215 pound left-handed hitter has played in 30 career games in the Majors, all with Boston, batting .167 with one double and four RBI. In 748 career minor league games, the Oakland, California native has posted a .272 average with 76 home runs and 415 RBI.

To make room on the 40-man roster RHP Kyle Drabek has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list.
