Blue Jays may start Price in Game 4 scenario
ARLINGTON -- Blue Jays manager John Gibbons has not ruled out the possibility of bringing back No. 1 starter David Price on short rest for Game 4 if Toronto extends the American League Division Series with a win tonight (8 p.m. ET, FOX Sports 1/Sportsnet).
Toronto previously announced knuckleballer R.A. Dickey as the starter for Game 4, but there's a strong chance that will change if the Blue Jays stay alive. The issue is on the backburner for now with the Blue Jays trailing 2-0 in the best-of-five-series, but it's at least being considered.

"Well, we've got to worry about tomorrow first, but of course that's always a possibility," Gibbons said Saturday afternoon. "We could do anything we wanted, really. But not too wise to get that far ahead."
Price got the start in Game 1, but he didn't have much success, allowing five runs over seven innings. He has yet to win a postseason start, and he has a career 4.79 ERA in 11 postseason games.
The Cy Young candidate has made one career start on three days' rest, but it happened all the way back in 2008 during his rookie season. Price allowed two runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings. Even that outing doesn't really count, though, because Price's previous outing was a relief appearance.
However, even if he's never done it before, the Blue Jays acquired Price for precisely this kind of situation. It didn't work out in Game 1, but that doesn't mean the club would necessarily shy away from using him in Game 4 if the series gets that far.
"If we win tomorrow, anything is a possibility," Gibbons said.
