Blue Jays roster moves

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have selected the contract of INF MUNENORI KAWASAKI from Buffalo of the International League (AAA). To make room on the 40-man roster RHP MARCUS WALDEN has been designated for assignment. INF MAICER IZTURIS has been placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 14, while RHP JEREMY JEFFRESS has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Buffalo.

Kawasaki, 32, has appeared in eight games for Buffalo this season, posting a .240 average (6-25) with one double. The Kagoshima, Japan native played a career high 96 games in Toronto last season, batting .229 with one home run and 24 RBI.
