Bombers bits

• Shortstop Derek Jeter, who is working his way back from a fractured left ankle, will begin his rehab assignment on Saturday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a 7:05 p.m. ET game against Lehigh Valley.

Pitcher Michael Pineda will make his final rehab start for the RailRiders in the same game. Working his way back from a shoulder injury, Pineda is 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA and 15 strikeouts over four Minor League starts. The Yankees will have to decide whether to keep him in Triple-A or have him join the Major League squad after the game.

• Third baseman Alex Rodriguez, who is recovering from offseason hip surgery, will make another rehab appearance on Saturday for Class A Tampa. He was scheduled to play pn Friday night, but the game was rained out.
