Bombers bits

• Right-hander David Phelps (right forearm strain) and infielder Jayson Nix (right hamstring strain), both of whom are on the 15-day disabled list, are scheduled to travel to Tampa, Fla. for rehab on Monday. Phelps is expected to begin throwing on Monday and is hopeful of rejoining the team when eligible during the upcoming series in Boston.

• On this date in 1957, the Yankees rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the ninth inning of Game 2 of a doubleheader at Chicago to win, 6-4, thanks in part to Moose Skowron's pinch-hit grand slam and Tommy Byrne's solo home run.

• Infielder Travis Ishikawa has elected free agency in lieu of accepting an outright assignment to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Ishikawa played in just one game for the Yankees, going 0-for-2.
