Zimmer cracks first Double-A dinger

Indians No. 3 prospect notches his first RBIs and homer in his second game for the RubberDucks

Indians prospect Bradley Zimmer, the club's first-round pick in the 2014 Draft, went 2-for-3 with a homer for Akron on Friday night -- his first career Double-A home run.

Zimmer, who is Cleveland's No. 3 prospect and No. 87 on the Top 100 Prospects list, was playing in his second game for the RubberDucks. He was selected 21st overall in last year's Draft.

Zimmer's homer came in the top of the ninth inning with the bases empty against Erie closer Paul Voelker. He added another RBI earlier in the game on a single -- his first RBI at the Double-A level.

In 77 games for Class A Advanced Lynchburg this season, Zimmer hit .305/.401/.488 with 10 homers.
