Lind bidding for first All-Star Game appearance

MILWAUKEE -- A bright spot amid the Brewers' stormy start, first baseman Adam Lind is bidding for his first appearance as a National League All-Star.

Lind, acquired in October after parts of nine seasons in the American League with the Blue Jays, ranked among the top 10 NL players with a .946 OPS and 10 extra-base hits through Tuesday. He never made the Midsummer Classic during his Toronto tenure.

Other Brewers on the ballot include catcher Jonathan Lucroy, second baseman Scooter Gennett, third baseman Aramis Ramirez, shortstop Jean Segura and outfielders Ryan Braun, Carlos Gomez and Khris Davis. Lucroy, Ramirez, Segura, Braun and Gomez are all past All-Stars.
