Brewers place Henderson on disabled list

The Brewers placed right-hander Jim Henderson on the 15-day disabled list Friday due to right shoulder inflammation.

Henderson gave up four hits, walked a batter and was charged with five earned runs while recording only two outs in the Brewers' 8-3 loss to the Reds on Thursday.

That outing sent the 31-year-old reliever's ERA on the year to 7.15 over 11 1/3 innings in 14 appearances. Before Thurdsay night, Henderson's previous three appearances had been scoreless as he racked up six strikeouts in three innings.

In a corresponding move, the Brewers recalled outfielder Caleb Gindl from Triple-A Nashville.

Gindl, 25, has hit .284/.352/.421 with two home runs and six RBIs in 25 games for Nashville. He made his Major League debut last season, batting .242/.340/.439 with five homers and 14 RBIs in 57 games for the Brewers.
