Brewers ink reliever Hagadone to Minors deal

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers signed former Indians left-hander Nick Hagadone to a Minor League contract that includes an invitation to Major League Spring Training camp, according to a Tweet from the club's player development department.

Hagadone, 29, pitched out of Cleveland's bullpen in each of the past five seasons, but he underwent surgery in July for a fractured elbow and was expected to be sidelined 6-9 months. Hagadone became a free agent earlier this month after being non-tendered.

In 143 Major League appearances, Hagadone has a 4.72 ERA and has held left-handed batters to a .210 average. His arrival in Cleveland coincided with that of current Brewers general manager David Stearns, who served as the Indians' director of baseball operations in 2011 and '12.
