Brewers open 2016 season at home vs. Giants

Interleague matchups include games against AL West, Twins

MIAMI -- The Brewers open the 2016 with a homestand that includes Carlos Gomez and the Astros, and also the Twins, Angels and A's in Interleague Play as part of the schedule unveiled Tuesday.

Opening Day is Monday, April 4, at Miller Park against the Giants, marking the start of a six-game opening homestand that concludes with a visit from Gomez, Mike Fiers and the Astros, who teamed with the Brewers to make a six-player trade on July 30.

Brewers' tentative 2016 schedule

Other Interleague home games include the Twins (April 20-21), Angels (May 2-4) and A's (June 7-8).

The Brewers will travel to Minnesota (April 18-19), Oakland (June 21-22), Seattle (Aug. 19-21) and Texas (Sept. 26-28) in Interleague series, with that Rangers set beginning a season-ending, six-game road trip. The regular season concludes in Colorado with three games against the Rockies from Sept. 30-Oct. 2. It will mark only the second time in six seasons that the Brewers finish the regular season away from home.

Other highlights include the Brewers helping the Cardinals open Busch Stadium during a three-game series from April 11-14, as well as Milwaukee being home on Memorial Day (vs. Cardinals on May 30) and Labor Day (vs. Cubs on Sept. 5), and on the road for Mother's Day (at Reds on May 8), Father's Day (at Angels on June 19) and July 4 (at Nationals).

There are a pair of long homestands on the schedule -- one from July 22-31 against the Cubs, D-backs and Pirates, and another from Aug. 22-31 against the Rockies, Pirates and Cardinals. Another road trip spans June 13-22, when the Brewers play three games in San Francisco followed by four in Los Angeles against the Dodgers, then a return to the Bay Area for two games at Oakland.

The complete tentative schedule can be seen on Brewers.com. The final schedule, including all start times, will be released by MLB in January.
