Bucs reportedly re-sign Barmes for one year

Defense-first shortstop has hit 13 homers the past two years for Pittsburgh

The Pirates have reportedly re-signed veteran shortstop Clint Barmes to a one-year deal.

Multiple outlets reported the deal on Thursday, with ESPN's Buster Olney saying it was a one-year deal worth $2 million.

Barmes has spent the past two seasons with Pittsburgh, playing in 144 games in 2012 and 108 last year.

Barmes is primarily known as a defensive shortstop, combining to hit .221 with 13 homers and 68 RBIs over the past two years.
