Bundy to start throwing program Thursday

BOSTON -- The Orioles got good news Wednesday on a trio of pitchers on the mend at the team's spring facility, including top pitching prospect Dylan Bundy, who will start a throwing program on Thursday.

Bundy was placed on the Minor League disabled list with right elbow discomfort and has been playing catch pain-free. He will continue a progression under pitching rehab coordinator Chris Correnti down in Sarasota, Fla.

Right-hander Steve Johnson (lat strain) is slated to throw a game in extended spring on Saturday, and he will go either three innings or around 55 pitches. Tsuyoshi Wada, who is coming off Tommy John surgery, has thrown two batting practice sessions could join Johnson on Saturday depending on how he's feeling, said manager Buck Showalter.
