Cardinals activate Lance Berkman from DL; First baseman is in starting lineup for today's game

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have
activated first baseman Lance Berkman from the 15-day disabled list…the veteran is in today’s
starting lineup, batting 5th and playing first base.

To make room for Berkman on the team’s 25-man active roster, the Cardinals have optioned
outfielder Shane Robinson to Memphis (AAA). Robinson was batting .311 (14-45) for the Cardinals,
appearing in 23 games and had gone 3-13 as a pinch hitter for the club.

Berkman was placed on the disabled list on April 20 (retroactive to April 19) with a left calf
strain, and missed 20 games while on the D.L.
