The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have activated right-handed pitcher Jake Westbrook (lower back strain) from the 15-day disabled list and that he will be on the team's active roster for tonight's series opener with Pittsburgh.

Westbrook, who went on the disabled list on August 22, is 7-8 with a 4.49 ERA in 19 games (18 starts) this season. The 35-year-old Westbrook posted his 100th career win earlier this season and is 36 strikeouts shy of 1,000 for his career.
