Cardinals announce Spring Training schedule

The defending National League champion Cardinals on Monday announced their Spring Training schedule that begins their quest of the 2014 season.

Cardinals pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to the complex at Jupiter, Fla., on Feb. 12 and begin their first workout on Feb. 13. The full squad's report date is Feb. 17, and the first workout for the entire team is on Feb. 18.

A 27-game Grapefruit League schedule was revealed, with the first game slated for Friday, Feb. 28, against the Marlins.

There will be 14 home dates at Roger Dean Stadium and 13 road games, including three as the "visiting" team against the stadium co-tenants -- the Marlins.

Some of the games sure to highlight the schedule include a March 5 meeting vs. the Red Sox -- a rematch of the 2013 World Series. Also visiting will be the Tigers (March 10), Braves (March 13) and Nationals (March 8, 21 and 26).

All Cardinals games at Roger Dean Stadium are scheduled to start at 12:05 p.m. CT.

Individual Spring Training tickets for games in Jupiter are scheduled to go on sale Saturday, Jan. 11, at 9 a.m. CT at cardinals.com.

Spring Training 2014 will mark the 17th year that the Cardinals will train at Roger Dean Stadium.
