Correa records third consecutive three-hit game

Astros No. 1 prospect is 9-for-13 in past three games, hitting .398 this season

Carlos Correa was unlikely to top his Monday night performance, in which he went 3-for-5 with a two-out, walk-off double for Double-A Corpus Christi. But he didn't disappoint Tuesday, either. The Astros No. 1 prospect went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run. It was Correa's sixth three-hit game of the year and third in a row.

The Hooks defeated Midland, 6-1, in a contest Correa broke open in the second with two outs and two men on. His stats over the past three games are impressive: 9-for-13 with six RBIs, a homer and three doubles. The shortstop also stole two bases Tuesday, giving him five in the past three contests.

Correa, baseball's No. 3 overall prospect, has been lights out all year and his average has stayed well above .300 since April 13. He now stands at .398 on the season with six homers and 28 RBIs.
