Carpenter, Peralta lead All-Star Game voting
Fans have until 10:59 p.m. CT on Thursday to vote
ST. LOUIS -- With less than four days remaining for fans to vote for All-Star Game starters, third baseman Matt Carpenter and shortstop Jhonny Peralta sit atop the voting leaderboard at their respective positions, while several of their teammates make a last-minute push to join them for the July 14 All-Star Game in Cincinnati via the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot.

After holding a comfortable voting lead for much of the month, Carpenter now sits just 62,980 votes ahead of Reds third baseman Todd Frazier. Carpenter, a two-time All-Star, has never started in the showcase game.
Peralta has opened up a lead of nearly three million votes over the closest pursuant, San Francisco's Brandon Crawford, at the shortstop position. Peralta has never been elected an All-Star starter before, either.
Matt Holliday remains in third place among NL outfielders, trailing Bryce Harper and Giancarlo Stanton. He has a lead of nearly 340,000 votes over Giants outfielder Nori Aoki. Holliday, who is rehabbing a right quad strain, said he will attend the All-Star Game -- even if he can't play -- should the fans vote him in.
Jason Heyward climbed a spot in the NL outfield race, to seventh, while Jon Jay fell one, to eleventh. Second baseman Kolten Wong and catcher Yadier Molina are each in second place at their respective positions.
Molina trails San Francisco's Buster Posey by more than 1.7 million votes. Wong has almost the same deficit to make up if he wants to catch Miami's Dee Gordon.
Fans can cast their votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites on their computers, tablets and smartphones using the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday at 10:59 p.m. CT. For the first time, voting is exclusively online, where fans may submit up to 35 ballots.

The 2015 All-Star starters will be unveiled on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. CT on the Esurance All-Star Starters Selection Show on ESPN. Then, on Monday at 6 p.m. CT, the All-Star reserves, pitchers and Final Vote candidates will be announced on the Esurance All-Star Selection Show on ESPN, immediately after which fans can return to MLB.com to begin casting their 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Votes for the final player for each league's All-Star roster.
