White Sox to open '16 season at Oakland
Home slate begins April 8; Interleague action includes NL East clubs
CHICAGO -- The White Sox will begin next season on April 4 with a four-game series at Oakland, the club announced on Tuesday, along with Major League Baseball unveiling the tentative 2016 regular-season schedule.
Chicago will play its home opener on Friday, April 8, against American League Central opponent Cleveland, kicking off a three-game weekend series. It's the fifth time in the last 12 seasons the White Sox have opened away from U.S. Cellular Field, but will be the first time since 1975 they have done so against the Athletics.
For Interleague Play in 2016, the White Sox will host the Nationals, Braves, Phillies and crosstown-rival Cubs, and will travel to National League ballparks against the Mets, Marlins, Phillies and Cubs.

The Crosstown Cup will continue with a four-day slate this season, starting on July 25-26 from U.S. Cellular Field before moving to Wrigley Field for two more games.
Chicago's longest road stretch this season will last 11 days against three teams when it hits the road on May 26. It will be one of four three-city road trips this season. The club's longest home stretch will also stretch 11 days against three teams, beginning on Sept. 5. The South Siders are also slated to play four, three-team home stretches this season.
The White Sox will conclude the season with a three-game home series against Minnesota from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.
The 2016 schedule is tentative and subject to change. Finalized game times and a complete broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.
