Arroyo leads Giants headed to Arizona Fall League

Mejia, Williamson, Slater among seven assigned to Scottsdale team

LOS ANGELES -- Infielder Christian Arroyo, the Giants' No. 1 Draft selection in 2013, highlights the seven-player contingent of Giants farmhands that will attempt to sharpen its skills by performing for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League.

Arroyo, 20, entered Tuesday hitting .308 with a .348 on-base percentage and a .471 slugging percentage in 84 games for Class A Advanced San Jose. He's ranked second on MLB.com's list of Giants prospects.

Other players bound for the Scorpions, with their MLB.com organizational prospect rankings, are left-hander Adalberto Mejia (12th), outfielder Mac Williamson (13th), second baseman Austin Slater (18th), right-hander Ray Black (19th) and right-hander Clayton Blackburn (21st). Right-hander Dan Slania also is part of the group.
