Legendary Dodger sits down with John Hartung for a comprehensive interview about his playing career, Tommy Lasorda and his baseball legacy

In the newest installment of SportsNet LA's signature interview series, "Connected With…," Dodger legend Ron Cey sits down with SportsNet LA host John Hartung to talk about his career with the Dodgers, on and off the field.

"Connected With…Ron Cey" premieres this Saturday, July 26 at 10:00 p.m. following SportsNet LA's live coverage of the Dodgers game against the Giants. In the episode, Cey tells Hartung about his role in the record-setting Dodger infield, meeting Tommy Lasorda for the first time, winning a World Series with the Dodgers and his current role with the team.

Quote excerpts from Cey include:

On Tommy Lasorda: "He nurtured us…I knew, pretty much, I was one of his guys and we worked very hard. That's the one thing Tommy deserves a lot of credit for. He spent a lot of time with us hitting ground balls, throwing batting practice, even spending time with us afterwards."

On being traded to the Cubs: "Very difficult. I remember the saying 'nothing personal, just business.' I had to continue to repeat that to myself, because I had been there 15 years and I wanted to spend the rest of my time being a Dodger. I wanted to live that out."

On his baseball legacy: "I didn't do enough. I always felt like I should have done more… But if you were going to tell me that I was going to be able to be a six-time All-Star, that I was going to establish myself as the greatest third baseman in Dodger history, that we were going to play in four World Series, be World Champions and I was going to be MVP of that series…I would have taken it…In the end though, I always thought I should have done a little bit more."

"Connected With…" has previously featured Dodger personalities Stan Kasten, Ned Colletti, Tommy Lasorda, Sandy Koufax, Darryl Strawberry, Dusty Baker, Clayton Kershaw, Carl Crawford, A.J. Ellis, Andre Ethier, Adrian Gonzalez, Kenley Jansen, Matt Kemp, Hanley Ramirez and Brian Wilson.
