Mets Minor Leaguer Buchmann suspended

Major League Baseball suspended Mets Minor League pitcher Connor Buchmann for 50 games on Thursday after he tested positive for amphetamine.

The suspension of Buchmann, who is on the roster of the Rookie-level Kingsport Mets, will take effect at the start of the 2016 Appalachian League season.

Selected by the Mets in the 11th round of the 2014 Draft, the right-hander went 0-3 with a 13.89 ERA in seven games (three starts) with Kingsport.
