Cubs Activate Carlos Marmol, Option Righthander Rafael Dolis to Triple-A

The Chicago Cubs today activated right-handed pitcher Carlos Marmol from the 15-day disabled list and optioned right-handed pitcher Rafael Dolis to Triple-A Iowa. 

Marmol will be available for the Cubs this afternoon against the San Diego Padres at Wrigley Field.

Marmol returns to the active roster after landing on the disabled list May 12 with a right hamstring strain.  Marmol is 0-1 with two saves and a 6.35 ERA (8 ER/11.1 IP) in 15 relief appearances for the Cubs.  He last pitched for the Cubs on May 11 in

As part of his return, Marmol made a pair of rehab appearances with Iowa and posted no record and a 0.00 ERA (2.0 IP).  He walked two, struck out four and limited opponents to a .143 batting average (1-for-7) in his 2.0 innings pitched.  

Dolis is 2-4 with four saves and a 5.68 ERA (16 ER/25.1 IP) in 23 relief appearances for the Cubs this season.  He has a 0-2 record with a 24.00 ERA (8 ER/3.0 IP) in his last five outings.
