Schwarber swats two homers at Double-A Tennessee

Cubs' 2014 first-round pick raises average to .340, has nine long balls in 32 games

Cubs No. 4 prospect (No. 48 overall) Kyle Schwarber moved into a tie for the Southern League home run lead with a two-homer game for Double-A Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.

The 2014 first-round Draft pick went 2-for-4 with the pair of homers and three RBIs in a 5-0 win over Jackson and is now 8-for-13 with three home runs and six RBIs over his past three contests. Schwarber has nine dingers in 32 games on the year to complement 23 RBIs. Last year, he hit 18 homers in 72 games across three levels in his pro debut.

The recent hot streak bumped the catcher's season line in a big way. Over the past three games, Schwarber has improved his slash line from .301/.422/.570 to .340/.446/.670.
