Cubs unsuccessful in challenge on steal call

CHICAGO -- With the Cubs trailing, 3-1, in the fourth inning on Tuesday, manager Rick Renteria challenged whether the Rockies' Charlie Blackmon had successfully stolen second base.

With two outs, Blackmon singled off starter Edwin Jackson and then stole second. Renteria challenged that the throw from catcher Welington Castillo to shortstop Starlin Castro was in time to get the baserunner.

But after a review, the call stood.

Corey Dickerson then walked, and Jackson got Nolan Arenado to pop up and end the inning.
