Cubs unsuccessful in challenging call at third

Giants' Sanchez ruled safe advancing on two-run double

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Cubs had trouble getting any hits or winning a challenge in Wednesday's 5-0 loss to the Giants.

Manager Rick Renteria challenged a call in the seventh inning. Giants catcher Hector Sanchez hit a two-run double with two outs in the seventh and advanced to third on the throw home. Renteria felt third baseman Mike Olt tagged Sanchez before he got to third base.

After a two-minute, 20-second review, the umpires ruled the call stands.

The Cubs now have challenged 21 calls and are 10-11.
