Gregorius off to hot start at Triple-A Reno

SAN FRANCISCO -- D-backs infielder Didi Gregorius has had a lot of success at the plate for Triple-A Reno so far this year.

Through eight games Gregorius was hitting .333 with three doubles, a triple and a homer.

Gregorius was one of the final cuts of the spring after losing out to Chris Owings for the starting shortstop job.

"I'm sure he took the demotion pretty tough, but went down there in the right frame of mind, positive attitude, and he's an injury away from being back up here and hopefully contributing," D-backs GM Kevin Towers said. "So we're happy with what he's done."

Gregorius has been alternating between second base and shortstop along with Nick Ahmed.
