D-backs executive Hall honored as 'Best Boss'

Team has had success both on and off the field under president and CEO

D-backs president and CEO Derrick Hall was named the "Best Boss" by TeamWork Online, the sports industry's online employment recruiting network.

Hall won the month-long contest held via TeamWork's website and Twitter account. He was named one of five finalists based on the number of times he was mentioned along with the hashtag "#BestBoss." Other finalists included executives from the Padres, Bakersfield Condors, National Fastpitch Coaches Association and Western and Southern Open Tennis.

The "Best Boss" recognition is just the latest honor bestowed upon Hall during his eight-year tenure at the helm in Arizona. Among the other accomplishments Hall has played a part in include the D-backs being named "the best workplace in sports" by Yahoo!, and leading the club to becoming the first sports organization listed among the "Best Places to Work" by the Phoenix Business Journal and BestCompaniesAZ for seven straight years from 2007-13.

Hall has helped turn the D-backs into one of the top organizations in the sports industry through his focus on what he calls the "Circle of Success." This particular business model is centered around the importance of fan experience, performance, community, culture and financial efficiency.

Under Hall's watch, the D-backs have won two National League West titles on the field while excelling in both fan experience and philanthropic work off the diamond. The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and the D-backs organization have combined to donate more than $19 million over the past seven years under Hall's direction.
