D-backs to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day

PHOENIX -- The D-backs' 15th Annual Hispanic Heritage Day, presented by Budweiser, will take place Saturday at Chase Field.

There will be an APS Street Festival from 2-3 p.m. MST prior to the 5:10 p.m. game between the D-backs and Rockies. The festival will feature the D-backs Luchador as well as members from Club Deportivo Coliseo.

The D-backs will give away 20,000 Miguel Montero bobbleheads to fans entering the game, and there will be Folklorico dancers and Mariachi performers throughout the ballpark prior to the game.

D-backs players and coaches will wear black jerseys with "Los D-backs" across the front. This is the sixth consecutive season the team has worn the jerseys, which will be available for auction following the game. The proceeds will benefit the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation.

Prior to the game, the D-backs will present Maria Harper-Marinick, executive vice chancellor and provost for Maricopa Community College, with the Hispanic Community Leadership Award.

Other pregame recognitions will include leaders from Aguila Leadership Institute and Be a Leader foundation for their contributions in the Hispanic community.

Montero and the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation will also present a check for $50,000 to the Ronald McDonald House prior to the game.
