Farquhar OK after being hit by comebacker

CLEVELAND -- Mariners reliever Danny Farquhar was knocked out of Thursday's 6-5 win over the Indians when he took a line drive off his right arm in the seventh inning, but the right-hander said after the game that everything was fine and he doesn't expect to miss any time.

Farquhar got the out on Lonnie Chisenhall as he retrieved the ball and underhanded the toss to first, but he was removed from the game after a quick visit from manager Lloyd McClendon and team trainer Rob Nodine.

"He took one right off the bicep, so I didn't want to take a chance," McClendon said. "But I think he's going to be OK."

Farquhar flexed his muscle in the clubhouse as he polished off a postgame meal.

"I think I dented that ball," he said with a grin.

Farquhar had just given up the go-ahead run on a single by Carlos Santana, the first batter he faced after coming into the game in a 4-4 tie with two runners on base courtesy of fellow reliever Charlie Furbush. But Seattle came back to win the game on a Mike Zunino homer in the eighth.

Farquhar was 1-1 with a 2.68 ERA in 44 appearances.
