Papi, Panda back in Red Sox's lineup

BOSTON -- Third baseman Pablo Sandoval was back in the Red Sox's lineup in Monday's 11-4 win over the Blue Jays after missing three games with mid-back tightness.

"We're real excited to get Pablo back," interim manager Torey Lovullo said. "I know that he was a little disappointed to miss the time that he did, and he worked hard to make this day happen. We're happy for him and we're excited that he's back, able to produce the way we want him to."

After going 1-for-3, Sandoval is batting .247 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs in his first season in Boston.

David Ortiz, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and scored a run, started at designated hitter despite exiting early with right calf stiffness Sunday.

"In my discussion with him [Sunday] night and this morning, he was going to come in early and get evaluated by the doctors," Lovullo said. "Our medical team did a great job touching a couple things up, so at a certain point, it made perfect sense to put him in there."

Ortiz blasted career home run No. 497 in the first inning Sunday to become the fourth player with 200 homers at Fenway Park.

• Lovullo reiterated Monday that second baseman Dustin Pedroia (right hamstring strain) could return to the lineup Tuesday if he gets cleared by team doctors. Pedroia rested Monday and is scheduled to be re-evaluated Tuesday.

• The Red Sox will call up left-hander Rich Hill and right-hander Jonathan Aro from Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday, Lovullo said after Monday's game. Right-hander Matt Barnes (elbow), who threw 18 pitches for the PawSox on Monday, will be evaluated by the Red Sox's medical team Tuesday and called up if he is cleared.
