LA auctioning meeting with Scully for SU2C

Bat boy/girl and Dodgers social media coordinator experiences also up for bidding, which ends Thursday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A meet and greet with Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully is just one of the once-in-a-lifetime experiences in the annual Winter Meetings charity auction organized by MLB, MLB Advanced Media, MLB Network and the 30 clubs.

Proceeds will be used to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. This initiative, which has raised nearly $500,000 since its inception, was inspired by the numerous employees, friends and fans of the game who have been affected by cancer.

A significant portion of the proceeds will go to Stand Up To Cancer, a longtime partner of Major League Baseball, its founding donor in 2008. In addition, this year's auction will benefit Do It For Durrett, in honor of the late Texas Rangers ESPN.com beat writer Richard Durrett, who passed away suddenly last year, and the YouCaring page established for Miami Marlins Sun Sentinel beat writer Juan C. Rodriguez, who is currently battling a brain tumor.

The auction is live on MLB.com until Thursday at 6 p.m. PT.

In addition to the meet and greet with Scully, Dodgers experiences available include being a Spring Training bat boy/bat girl and being a club social media coordinator for a day.

The winner of the Scully meet and greet will receive four Field Level tickets to a 2016 Dodgers home game and a photograph of your group and Scully during what is expected to be his final season.

The winner of the bat boy/bat girl experience will serve for a game at the Dodgers' Spring Training home in Glendale, Ariz. The package also includes four tickets to a mutually agreed upon game.

The winner of the social media coordinator for a day experience will shadow the Dodgers' social media coordinator as he goes through his day and get up close and personal with their favorite Dodgers while assisting in posting social content pregame, in-game and postgame.
