Dodgers claim Reynolds, Fields off waivers
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Dodgers on Monday claimed right-handed pitcher Danny Reynolds from the Angels and outfielder Daniel Fields from the Brewers, giving them 38 players on the 40-man roster.
Reynolds, 24, has yet to make his Major League debut, posting a 4.57 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP in 43 appearances for Double-A Arkansas this past season, striking out 10.4 batters and walking 5.8 per nine innings.
A sixth-round Draft pick out of high school in 2009, Reynolds was moved from the rotation to the bullpen for the 2014 season and posted solid numbers, finishing the year with a 2.90 ERA and 9.1 strikeouts per nine innings in mostly Class A Advanced and Double-A.
That prompted a move to the 40-man roster the following winter to protect him from exposure in the Rule 5 Draft. Reynolds was ranked 24th in the Angels' farm system by MLB.com.
Reynolds is listed at only 6 feet and 190 pounds, but he throws his fastball in the upper 90s.

Fields, 24, made his Major League debut last year for the Tigers, going 1-for-3 in his only big league game on June 4 against the Athletics. He has a .244 batting average with 86 stolen bases, 42 home runs and 260 RBIs in 649 Minor League games over six seasons in the Detroit organization.
He appeared in 122 games for Triple-A Toledo last season, batting .228 with 17 steals, seven home runs and 41 RBIs prior to being claimed by the Brewers on Sept. 10. During the course of his Minor League career, Fields has primarily appeared in center field.
