Dodgertown Classic presented by Coca-Cola set for March 13
The 3rd Annual Classic Once Again Features USC vs. UCLA
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers will celebrate the return of baseball to Dodger Stadium by hosting the 3rd Annual Dodgertown Classic presented by Coca-Cola on Tuesday, March 13. The UC Irvine Anteaters will take on the Pepperdine Waves at 2 p.m., followed by the USC Trojans battling the UCLA Bruins at 6:30 p.m. The Dodger Stadium gates open at 1 p.m. and both games will count toward NCAA baseball standings.
Tickets for the Dodgertown Classic presented by Coca-Cola will cost $7 in advance and $12 day of game and can be purchased via Ticketmaster, by visiting www.dodgers.com/classic and at Dodger Stadium. A $5 student tickets can be purchased in person at any of the schools’ campus box offices. Each ticket will permit access to both of the day's games.
There will be discounted concessions and no charge for parking at Dodger Stadium for the event.
Dodger merchandise will be on sale at the Top of the Park store, Field Level kiosks and at the left field tent and will include school-branded items. This year, prices for Dodger merchandise have been reduced 20 to 50 percent from 2011 and will available all season long.
The Dodgertown Classic was established in 2010 in an effort to support NCAA baseball programs. Since its inception, the Dodgers have hosted Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt University, the University of Georgia and St. Mary’s College in addition to the USC and UCLA game each year.
Trojans who have played for the Dodgers include Ron Fairly, Rod Dedeaux, Len Gabrielson, Ray Lamb and Bobby Mitchell. Mike Garrett, a former Heisman Trophy winner at USC, was drafted by the Dodgers but chose to play professional football instead. Former Bruins that played for the Dodgers include Eric Karros, Todd Zeile, Jackie Robinson, Tim Leary, Glenn Mickens, Dave Roberts, Ron Roenicke and Matt Young. Additionally, former Dodgers Chad Kreuter, Mike Fetters, Randy Wolf and Will Ohman played baseball for Pepperdine.
