Fister, Solis get through first rehab outings

Right-hander goes 3 2/3 innings; southpaw pitches one frame

WASHINGTON -- Nationals right-hander Doug Fister (forearm tightness) and left-hander Sammy Solis (shoulder inflammation) had rehab assignments Sunday for Triple-A Syracuse and Double-A Harrisburg, respectively, and both came out of it healthy.

Fister pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed two runs on seven hits in a 7-2 loss to Pawtucket. He threw 63 pitches and 47 of them went for strikes. Most of the pitches were around 82-84 mph, according to Syracuse PR man Kevin Brown. Three of the seven hits were infield hits. Fister will likely get another start before he returns to the big leagues.

Solis didn't pitch well, going one inning and allowing three runs on five hits in a 5-2 loss to Trenton.

It's not known when Solis will return to the big leagues.
